Gary Field – Founder
Gary Field is the founder of Valuelytics, and he embodies the creative mind, insatiable curiosity, force of intelligence and entrepreneurial spirit, which underscores our team and which drove the development of our innovative analytic engine. These traits have been in evidence throughout Gary’s career, as well as in his eclectic interests. What can we say about a man who studied to become a concert pianist at the New England Conservatory of Music, played tournament chess while earning a degree in engineering from Northeastern University, reads statistics white papers for enjoyment and rides a Harley ‘fat-boy’ motorcycle for relaxation! We would say he is a true renaissance man!
Gary’s early career began at Eastman Kodak where he did pioneering engineering work on digital color management. He subsequently joined Siemens Nixdorf were he helped develop advanced document systems. Feeling he had broader capabilities, Gary joined Scitex America moving into a marketing capacity. At Scitex, Gary helped grow their imagesetter™ product line, generating more than $250 million in annual revenue. Along the way, Gary picked up his MBA and met Professor Marc Rubin whose course work inspired Gary’s initial idea for a web analytic, a tool for online merchants to help customers make better decisions. Today, that tool is now our ValuelyticEngine™ platform.
The entrepreneurial spirit drove Gary to his first start-up, a mortgage brokerage business that he successfully grew to multiple branches and more than $700 million in underwritten mortgages. In his spare time, his insatiable curiosity kept bringing him back to his evolving web analytic idea, a comparison tool to statistically identify the “best value” product, not just display a features matrix.
Today, that research and persistence has led to the development of Valuelytics’ patented analytic engine, an automated valuation process, which improves data quality and enhances predictive capabilities for decision-making. The initial patent along with additional IP developed by Gary and the Valuelytics team, is now our core platform technology that we refer to as our ValuelyticEngine™.
